Tips for Financing your Study Abroad Experience
Studying abroad can be an expensive endeavor but anyone who has done it will tell you it is worth every cent!
Step #1: Shop around and make sure you are paying a fair price for the program. Make sure you know what is included and what is not included in the program fee.
Step #2: Apply for federal financial aid! If you already qualify for aid, you may qualify for more when studying abroad because the cost of your education is higher. (This changes your “need” ratio.) If you don’t qualify for aid now, you might qualify when studying abroad because the costs of your education are higher. For applications and further information, please contact the Office of Financial Aid as early in the process as possible. Apply online for a speedy reply. → www.fafsa.ed.gov
Step #3: Look for scholarships! Give yourself plenty of time. Scholarship applications are generally due in the early spring for the following academic year.
