Many students come to Shoreline knowing exactly to which college or university they intend to transfer. But perhaps the majority of our students are undecided about their next step. There are many resources available to you to help you with this important decision. At Shoreline, a good place to start is with your advisor. S/he will help you identify your interests and preferences, and can get you started with the process of locating colleges and universities that will meet your goals. There also are many helpful reference books available, and an increasing number of resources on the worldwide web. International Programs maintains a list of admission requirements for transferring international students for all of the colleges and universities that accept Shoreline’s “Direct Transfer Degree” (option A) under the “Direct Transfer Agreement”. It is updated annually to provide information that is as accurate as possible. Please ask an advisor for a complete list. Students transferring on from Shoreline are not limited to the colleges and universities in Washington State. Students may apply to transfer to any 4-year school in the United States. Many of Shoreline’s international students have transferred successfully to some of the most prestigious colleges and universities all across the United States. Schools outside Washington State will evaluate each course taken at Shoreline according to that school’s own general education guidelines and degree requirements. Students considering transferring out-of-state should work with an advisor at Shoreline to identify the particular requirements of the school to which they intend to transfer, and to choose courses that will meet those requirements.
